YMCA Camp Cullen gives families a chance to escape the busy daily life. They can reconnect with each other during a weekend of fun camping, bonding, and adventure. The facilities offer an experience that surpasses your expectation as an adult of what a ‘camp’ might be. Meals, activities and lodging are all included in the price of your family camp experience, for an all-inclusive stay with no worries or hassles.

Our Camp Facilities Have Something for Everyone

YMCA Camp Cullen is a top-notch facility designed to provide a great experience for people of all ages. The cabins and activities are in a beautiful natural setting. We believe it’s one of the best family camps in Texas.

Our overnight family camping location is ideal for enjoying oneself and taking on personal development. It provides thrill and an opportunity to pause from the daily routine. Moreover, it allows for re-establishing a connection with nature.

Cabins

At the end of their day of fun, families will come back to a clean, climate-controlled bunkhouse for some quality time together. You will feel right at home with en-suite, individual bathroom and shower facilities. There are porches on the front and back with rocking chairs for relaxing or conversation together while enjoying time with your family members.

The Dining Hall

Our dining hall is by the waterfront. It has 12,200 square feet of space. There is also an extra 3,500 square feet of porch for socializing. Families will share a table together and enjoy balanced, kid-friendly meal options, prepared by our camp chef, that both parents and even the pickiest eater will love.

Infirmary

We are committed to the health and safety of all campers. Our staff receives training in basic first aid and can help treat routine scrapes, cuts, and minor illnesses. Your family’s safety is of the utmost importance to us!

The Dock

Head down to the lake for fun on the water during our camps for families! Many activities launch from the dock including sailing, skiing, tubing, our banana boat, and more. Family Camp is a great place to try new things, including water sports, and what better place to try something new than with family surrounding you to cheer you on! This is sometimes based on the season and weather.

The Chapel

Enjoy a beautiful sunset while looking over Lake Livingston and sharing the high points of your day of family-friendly adventure and fun. Equestrian Center

Our Hammil Equestrian Center has 30,000 square feet of arena space, and a portion of the arena is covered with lighting. The facility has bleachers for viewing horseback riding. There are 10 covered stalls, a tack room, and a feed room. A classroom in the breezeway includes a projector screen. There is also office space, storage, and restrooms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be a member of the YMCA to book a Family Getaway?

No. A YMCA membership is not required.

Do you accept pets?

Due to the layout of our cabins, we do not allow pets.

What are the amenities in the cabins?

All cabins are the same. They are in three lovely villages. Each cabin has air conditioning and heating. They also have Wi-Fi. Each cabin contains six twin-size bunk beds. You will find several storage areas too. Each cabin has a porch with rockers, either in the front or back. Shared laundry facilities are available for everyone. En suite bathrooms include four large showers, four restroom stalls, and six sinks with granite countertops. Hand sanitizer stations will be available at the entrance of every cabin.

What activities will be available during my stay?

We offer a wide variety of seasonal activities throughout the year that will match each member of your family’s skill level and challenge them at the same time. Activities include but are not limited to archery, riflery, scavenger hunts, geology, crafts and more! Please visit our activities page for a complete list.
