YMCA Camp Cullen offers weekend family camp experiences in the heart of East Texas — just 90 miles north of Houston — where wide-open spaces, tall pines along Lake Livingston, and all-inclusive fun bring families closer together.

Whether it’s your first time at family camp or a tradition you return to every year, Camp Cullen gives every member of your family — from toddlers to grandparents — a weekend to remember.

Our Camp Facilities Have Something for Everyone

YMCA Camp Cullen is one of the best all-inclusive family camps in Texas. The facilities are set in a stunning natural environment along Lake Livingston, with everything your family needs included: cabins, meals, and activities all in one place.

Cabins

After a day of activities, your family comes back to a clean, climate-controlled cabin — heated and air conditioned for comfort across all sessions. Each cabin has en-suite bathrooms, plus front and back porches with rocking chairs perfect for unwinding together.

The Dining Hall

Our 12,200 sq ft dining hall sits in a scenic setting on the property, with an additional 3,500 sq ft of porch for socializing. All meals are included in your family camp stay — no planning, no cooking. Our camp chef prepares balanced, kid-friendly options that even the pickiest eater will enjoy.

Infirmary

Your family’s health and safety is our top priority. Our on-site staff are trained in first aid and equipped to handle routine needs — so parents can relax and enjoy the weekend knowing help is always nearby.

The Dock

Head down to the dock for fun on Lake Livingston. Activities include sailing, skiing, tubing, the banana boat, and more. Water activity availability always depends on weather conditions — check with us when booking to understand what to expect during your session dates.

The Chapel

Enjoy a beautiful sunset while looking over Lake Livingston and sharing the high points of your day of family-friendly adventure and fun. Equestrian Center

Horseback riding is one of the most popular activities at Camp Cullen. The Hammil Equestrian Center offers 30,000 sq ft of arena space, 10 covered stalls, bleacher seating, and a classroom with projector for riding instruction — suitable for first-timers and experienced riders alike.

Camp Activities for the Whole Family

From archery to horseback riding to campfire evenings, Camp Cullen offers a full range of activities for every age and interest. Here’s what families enjoy during their stay:

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be a member of the YMCA to book a Family Getaway?

No. A YMCA membership is not required.

Do you accept pets?

Due to the layout of our cabins, we do not allow pets.

What are the amenities in the cabins?

All cabins are the same. They are in three lovely villages. Each cabin has air conditioning and heating. They also have Wi-Fi. Each cabin contains six twin-size bunk beds. You will find several storage areas too. Each cabin has a porch with rockers, either in the front or back. Shared laundry facilities are available for everyone. En suite bathrooms include four large showers, four restroom stalls, and six sinks with granite countertops. Hand sanitizer stations will be available at the entrance of every cabin.

What activities will be available during my stay?

We offer a wide variety of seasonal activities throughout the year that will match each member of your family’s skill level and challenge them at the same time. Activities include but are not limited to archery, riflery, scavenger hunts, geology, crafts and more! Please visit our activities page for a complete list.
