YMCA Camp Cullen offers an opportunity for families to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life and re-connect with each other for a weekend of fun family camping, bonding and adventure. The facilities offer an experience that surpasses your expectation as an adult of what a ‘camp’ might be. Meals, activities and lodging are all included in the price of your family camp experience, for an all-inclusive stay with no worries or hassles. The facility is highly accessible, and provides fun and engagement for kids and adults of all ages. The Family Camp program has been highly successful as an opportunity for multiple generations of a family to engage and connect.

Themes to Suit the Season

Each Family Camp has a theme to fit the season from the festive period to Earth Day, fall, spring, winter, Valentine’s Day, Halloween and more. The activity offerings are dependent on the time of year, but we aim to offer as many as possible! It’s quality time well spent with your family, and our festive themes allow for each member to get excited about their stay!

Our Camp Facilities Have Something for Everyone

The YMCA Camp Cullen facility is a best-in-class facility, intentionally designed to deliver a high-quality, immersive experience to all ages. The cabins, activities, layout and amenities, mixed with the well-preserved natural environment, provide a perfect setting for fun, growth, excitement, disconnection from the hustle of the world, and reconnection with nature. Not to mention, anyone looking to enjoy a Houston area family camp will love the convenience of YMCA Camp Cullen. Spend quality time with your family in a peaceful outdoor setting, with fun activities for all ages.

Cabins

At the end of their day of fun, families will come back to a clean, climate controlled bunkhouse for some quality time together. You will feel right at home with en-suite, individual bathroom and shower facilities. There are front and back porches complete with rocking chairs for relaxing and conversation together while enjoying the outdoors.

The Dining Hall

Our dining hall is located on the water front and offers 12,200 square feet with an additional 3,500 square feet of porch space for social time. Families will share a table together and enjoy balanced, kid-friendly meal options, prepared by our camp chef, that both parents and even the pickiest eater will love.

Infirmary

We are commited to the health and safety of all campers. Our staff is trained in basic first aid and can help and treat routine scrapes, cuts and minor illnesses. Your family’s safety is of the utmost importance to us!

The Dock

Head down to the lake for fun on the water! Many activities launch from the dock including sailing, skiing, tubing, our banana boat and more. Family Camp is a great place to try new things, including water sports and what better place to try something new than with family surrounding you to cheer you on!

The Chapel

Equestrian Center

Our Hammil Equestrian Center has 30,000 square feet of arena space, and a portion of the arena is covered with lighting. There are bleachers for viewing, 10 covered stalls, tack room, feed room, a classroom in the breezeway with projector screen, office space, storage and restrooms.

Friday:

Saturday:

  • Breakfast Buffet – Start your day off on the right foot with a delicious, filling breakfast before you head off as family for a day of fun!
  • Activities of Choice – 3 hours of climbing tower, zip lines, kayaking, target sports, crafts and more
  • Lunch
  • Free Roam Activities – 3-4 more hours of FUN
  • Dinner
  • Evening Programs – for all ages focused on the theme of the weekend that allow for reflection and review of a great day.
  • Campfire and S’mores – relax by a campfire, look up at the stars and enjoy a delicious treat!

No. A YMCA membership is not required. Members of the Y receive a 25% discount off their reservation.

Reserve your family’s space on our website or by calling/emailing our office for assistance: 936-594-2274 or emailing campcullen@ymcahouston.org. Family Camp can be booked for day activities or 1-2 night stays Friday and/or Saturday nights. Rates are per cabin up to six guests. Additional guests are welcome for an additional fee.

All reservations require a 50% deposit at time of booking and payment in full 14 days prior to arrival. If booking is within 14 days of arrival, payment in full is due at booking.

Yes! We are pleased to offer accommodations for you and your pet(s) – 2 pet maximum. Pets are not allowed in any of our public buildings. If you are planning to bring your pet, please read and agree to our detailed Pet Policy: We are pleased to offer accommodations for you and your pet(s). Camp is for the enjoyment of all visitors. To ensure the comfort and safety of all our guests and employees, please review and acknowledge the following pet policy: Pets are permitted in cabins, (except our limited pet-free designated cabins). Pets will not be permitted in any enclosed public spaces such as meeting rooms, lobbies, bathrooms and dining areas, program rooms, Baker Arts & Science Center, Swimming pool or aboard any watercraft(not applicable to service animals as defined by the ADA). Pets must be registered with the front desk upon arrival. Guests failing to notify the front desk prior to/during check-in, will be charged the applicable nonrefundable pet fee and any incremental cleaning charges (even after departure). YMCA Camp Cullen requires a nonrefundable pet fee of $25 per pet, per unit (maximum two pets). This fee covers normal wear and tear and standard additional cleaning associated with pet usage. Pets must be on-leash while on property and when outside a guest accommodation.

They must be under the control of and with their owner, or designee, at all times and pet owners are responsible for immediately cleaning up after their pet while on the YMCA Camp Cullen property. Pets should be current on all vaccinations; documentation must be immediately available upon request. YMCA employees are not allowed to enter accommodations with an unaccompanied pet. If maintenance or other staff service is required, please remove the pet from the accommodation. Please contact the front desk to arrange a convenient time for such services. Should there be additional damages or injuries, each pet owner is 100% responsible and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless YMCA Camp Cullen/ YMCA of Greater Houston from all liability and damage suffered as a result of the pet. This includes but is not limited to guest accommodations, all public areas, corridors and outside grounds areas. If an accommodation is unusable due to damage from a guest’s pet, the guest whose pet is responsible for said damages will be responsible for any lost room revenue plus expenses incurred while the damage is being repaired. The YMCA Camp Cullen reserves the right to discharge any guests with hostile or disruptive pets without refund of balance of stay.

All cabins are identical, laid out in three beautiful villages and include the following amenities: a mini-fridge, air conditioning and heating, Wi-Fi, seating and dining area, six twin size bunk beds as well as a double bed, multiple storage areas, front and back porch with rockers and benches, and shared laundry facilities. En suite bathrooms include; four large showers, four restroom stalls, and six sinks with granite counter tops. Hand sanitizer stations will be available at the entrance of every cabin. Each cabin is individually lockable for guest security. Bedding, towels, and toiletries are not provided.

We offer a wide variety of seasonal activities throughout the year that will match each member of your family’s skill level and challenge them at the same time.
